Oh, tragus piercing, how I miss thee?
I took the tongue out willingly a couple years back and never regretted it, but I would love to have the tragus back in there. Maybe one day.

Right you are!
Tea is probably better for it than coffee!
Ha! But it's like an addiction, this diary thing...
A massage will definitely do me some good. I wish I didn't have to wait a few days to get one.
My nose piercing gave me nothing but grief. I took it out after 10 months. Allan's sister wanted to do her tragus, so we went together. Pretty soon we're going to go do the other side. I don't think I could ever pierce my tongue, but if I had a lovely flat tummy I'd do my belly button in a heartbeat! :-)

This evening Allan and I met a cyber-acquaintance. We didn't meet her on Flickr, but on a website that is important to both of us. A. is a new participant at this website, and she's jumped right in and joined the "family." It was wonderful to meet her. I do believe we'll meet up again.
Those are her arms and her coffee. I put the 50mm lens on my D50. I haven't used it much since we got it.

It has been raining for three days. The stress I have alluded to is compounded by the weather. I didn't sign up for this!
About the stress: I have decided to start writing about it on my blog. I learned a couple of things over the weekend, things which turned on my lightbulb, if you will.
Writing it down, exploring it, will take a while, especially if I keep feeling like this. Today was one of those days where you just want to stay in bed. I didn't, but I didn't do everything I'd planned to, either.
This afternoon, I said to Allan, "Let's go to Walgreen's or something and get some nice fluorescent light on our faces." We browsed the aisles, just enjoying the bright lights, when I saw some Elmer's Shimmering Shapes Glaze. I checked it out, returned it to the shelf, and walked away. Five seconds later I decided to buy the stuff. I have an ongoing scrapbook project for my kids (and I really need to start it) and this stuff will be a cool thing to use.
I felt great when we left the store. I do believe the artificial lights at Walgreen's made a difference in my attitude!
_________________________________________
Je me sentais bien quand on a quitté Walgreen's.

buying something sparkly is a good mood lifter.
fir a few years I wanted to make photo albums of pictures for my nieces and nephews (3 of each) filled with pictures taken before they were born. It wiil require a long visit to my parents and my uncle (he has the really old family pictures). Unfortunately the screen on my laptop died and I have to hook it up to a monitor. grrr. I guess I will have to postpone the books for another year (when I can afford a new laptop).

I am just LOVING this picture!
I'm not quit sure whst the item is, this glaze... but it looks fun!! I know the feeling of just wanting to get out and heading for Walgreen's!!!
During my first extended visit to stay with my fiancé (a three month vacation!) he wasn't working at first, so he we didn't have much money to go out a lot... when we were bored and wanted somehting to do, I'd ask him to take me to Wal-Mart just to look around!!! I was (and still am today) fascinated by those HUGE aisles and never ending items of those immense shelves...
His friends still make fun of me for it, but I just laugh!
anyways, I LOVE that picture... did I mentoin that already???

Thanks! The glaze is like a clear glue with sparkly things in it. And don't be embarrassed about walking around Wal-Mart like that. I did it myself just the other day!

It's my turn to cook dinner. We're having penne with a bit of chopped, cooked bacon, halved grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella (mmm, can't wait until it melts into the hot pasta), and fresh basil. With sea salt and freshly ground pepper, of course.
N.B. I forgot to add the basil. Oops. It was still a tasty meal!
____________________________________________
Who knew?
N.B. J'ai oublié le basilic. Oups. C'était bon quand même!

Excerpted from today's blog entry:
The first thing she asked was "How's the Wellbutrin working out?"
I said "It's not. I don't want to take it anymore."
Now, I was hoping that she would just tell me to wean off of it, and basta, end of story, but no. She prescribed another medication. With different side effects. Nausea, anyone?
Why? Because when I told her about what the stress was doing to me, she said "It's related to the depression."
Sigh.
On the other hand, she thought it was a good idea for me to get a massage. Because that bone that sticks out a bit in my lower back? That's no bone. It's a muscle spasm.
________________________________________
Pourquoi?

January 19, 1998.
Dear T.,
They pumped me full of Ocytocine so that you would enter the world more quickly. It wasn't because you were having difficulties, or because I was in danger, or vice versa. Everything was fine; you were just taking your time and the nurses wanted you to be born because they were busy that day in the maternity ward. We found out that one baby had been stillborn that night. It showed; the personnel were sober and taciturn.
Both you and your sister hurt me, in the sense that when I was in labor with you, it wasn't just labor. It was back labor. That REALLY hurts, not that you need to worry about ever feeling it.
The Ocytocine did its magic, as did the epidural. Your father ran out to get a sandwich. He hadn't eaten in more than 12 hours. And at the point where I couldn't wait any longer, he rushed into the room. There you were.
I knew you were a boy. We wanted to find out, whereas we had no idea whether your older sister would be a boy or a girl. We had two names chosen for her. For you, we only needed one name. Also, because I wanted another girl so badly, I wanted to know what you were, so that I could prepare myself. I had a few months to get used to the idea that you were a boy.
That sounds kind of mean, doesn't it? The important thing is a healthy baby, right? I needn't have worried, anyway. You were a healthy baby. And the day after you were born, I held you after I fed you. You looked right into my eyes. I have no idea what you actually saw, but I fell in love with you right there.
Happy Birthday, my sweet boy. You are not here for me to take a photo of, so I took a photo of this. It is one of my favorite pictures of you.
I love you and miss you,
Mom xoxoxo

It's a "deluxe" board. It even turns, so you can read the board easily. Well worth the extra money!

It's been very hard for me to write blog entries lately. Part of this is due to stress. And one of the stressors in my life is this situation, which I just managed to blog about today. If you don't care to read the blog entry I linked, that's okay. I'll explain that I'm dealing with an important situation, yet there are many unknown variables right now. It's doing my head in.
__________________________________________
Bref. Voilà.

I'm sure it will all be worth it once you're there. You'll get to see your kids again and just enjoy your time in France...
I know what it's like when things just take forever! Unfortunately not all of Europe is as efficient as it should be... things here too take way much longer than they should. Sometimes I wonder how we (Italy) ever became part of the EU!! Don't think we always deserve it!
On a lighter note, you probably don't know that I was racking my brain trying to find the link you posted a while back about the Dooce effect.
As stupid as I was, I didn't save the link and seeing as I had read about it in your blog a while back, I had completely forgotten it was you who had posted about it and what the effect was called!
After four days and not much help, I decided to go through every single diary until I found it! You can imagine my surprise when I came to yours and found that it was you who had introduced me to it!
I read your diary every day... and yet I didn't think to come to yours first!
Silly me!!
Off to try the Dooce effect now!!

Sorry to hear about the bad stuff. Just think about the kirs that await your delayed France-visit...
On another, less serious note, Scrabble is AWESOME! I have even managed to win in FRENCH before! YAY!

Glad you finally found what you were looking for!
Me too. I should know more by next week.
Yes, I'm slogging through. Trudge, trudge.
I LOVE Scrabble in French, too! Something about all the different terminaisons and conjugaisons... ;-)

Allan's sister and I had our traguses (tragi?) pierced today. If I'd been less shy, I'd have asked to take a closeup of the piercer's gloves and forearms. Damn.
Anyway, we did the other ear three months ago.

Ah, the life of the under-employed freelance writer. I didn't take a shower until after 4 p.m. today. And even now, I'm lounging in my pajamas. You know, getting ready to write a blog entry or something.
The thing is, I still lack the motivation to blog. Some days I just feel like I can't do anything; I can't summon the energy, mental or physical, that I need.
Tomorrow will be different. We actually have to be somewhere at a certain time. I think that will set the tone for the day.

Thanks. Things should be settled by next week.
As I told you, as soon as I saw the preview of the photo, I thought "There it is! There's my photo!" :-)

So brave of you to get your "thingy" pierced... always wondered what it was called! Did it hurt more than a normal ear piercing??
