This group is for people who are serious about photography. You don't have to be a pro, nor do you have to own a fancy camera, you just have to make an effort. What this means is that you shouldn't post a photo of your kids soccer game or your cat sleeping, unless of course it has some artistic merit. Post pictures you tried really hard to get right.

Here's the concept: Each week you post your best photo, the one you tried really hard to compose, properly expose, and think is great. After you post your photograph as a courtesy to the other members, comment on the photograph before yours in the pool. Don't just say "Nice" give some real comments about what you like or dislike about it.

If anyone finds people not commenting on the picture before them in the stream, please post a comment to the message board. The member who has not commented will be warned once, and if they continue not to comment, they will be removed. Any members that are removed from the group are free to rejoin, but if they continue not to comment, they will be banned.

Images with more than basic touchups (photoshopping) are welcome but please include what modifications were made in the photos description. Cropping is discouraged since one of the main concepts of photography is composition. Also, please make sure that the EXIF data (aperture, shutter, flash, etc) is included in the image. If this information is not available, say because it's a scan from a film photograph, please try and put a note in the description about the main settings used if you can remember what they were.

Soon, I would like to add some weekly contest where all the members can vote on each other photos and have a winner each week. This won't be until the size of the group is large enough to do this.

This is a new group, I hope all this makes sense. Also, anyone interested in helping with administration, please post a message to that effect. Lastly, everyone is welcome to make suggestions on improving this group, it's my first, so it's all on the fly.
