About 19th Century Iron

As the title suggests -- pictures of iron objects manufactured some time between 1801 - 1900. Or thereabouts.

19th century steel, steel being an iron alloy and widely used in the later half of the 19th century, is absolutely acceptable and encouraged.

So bridges, buildings, trains, statues, ornaments--anything iron from the 19th century, the age of the industrial revolution and first era of mass-manufacture. I hope my pictures give an idea of what I have in mind, although, of course, yours don't have to look like that.

Rules

i) its about the iron, but its about the picture too.

ii) Iron from the 19th century doesn't have to fill the frame, but it should be a significant feature of the shot.

iii) If the picture is of an obviously post-19th century iron object--a rusted car for instance--I will, regretfully, remove it.

iv) If the picture doesn't contain iron -- if it's of gold coins for instance -- I will remove it, with great sadness and again, regret. Again: rusted cars are out, as they don't contain much iron (and, for the most part, weren't manufactured in the 19th century).

v) Without setting hard or fast rules about it, let's upload photographs to the 19th century iron pool in digestible morsels (say two or three or four), rather than huge blocks all at once. In of a case of a single subject (a railway station say, with many iron elements) where one picture clearly won't suffice, it would be better, I think, to post 3 or 4 representative pictures of whatever 19th century iron glory you've encountered and then link those pictures to a set of even more detailed pictures. Update: As of May 23rd, 2006 there is a limit of 7 photographs per person per 24 period. Flickr gives me a gadget, I feel the need to play with it. We want any photograph of 19th century iron you want to submit -- the limit is to try and ensure a balanced and varied photostream.
