Bhutan is one of the least unexplored country in the world and ranked amongst the top ten ultimate tourist destination and global hotspots. Cradled in the folds of the mighty Himalayan ranges this tiny Kingdom of the peaceful Thunder Dragon remains an exotic destination.
Bhutan has one of the most vibrant cultures and it is this very living culture that charms the visitor from the outside. As the only country in the world following and ardently practicing Mahayana Buddhism, religion plays a most important part and has shaped the way of living for the Bhutanese.
Just as the Bhutanese make it a point to watch the festival at least once in their lifetime, so should you visit and witness the colorful and well synchronized mask dances. Multi-colored prayer flags and temples dot the landscape and is a visual delight every time of the day and night too.
Characteristics of a rich bio-diversity, the country boasts of a good collection of endangered and rare species like the Ludlow’s Bhutan Swallowtail, Black Neck Cranes, Takin, Blue Poppy and many others.
With Gross National Happiness as the Government’s guiding philosophy and ultimate aim, Bhutan is aptly called the Land of Happiness.
