About Danko だん子 - Taishō Era Maiko & Geiko
Danko was a maiko and eventually geiko during the Taishō era.
While little is known about Danko, she appeared in the 1917 Miyako Odori Program and was often seen in various dance poses in postcards. This seems to indicate she was a highly skilled dancer.
Danko is often seen with both Tomigiku and Momotaro in various postcards and she shares the same kamon as Momotaro. While her appearance in the 1917 Miyako Odori program seems to put her as Momotaro's contemporary, due to the fact she's often seen as a geiko with Momotaro, while appearing as a geiko with Tomigiku, it's more likely she was Tomigiku's contemporary.
