Guidelines

Hi lovely ladies.
I’m so pleased you’ve decided to join in with the Modern Minx Beginner Bee and I can’t wait to get to know you all! However (dum, dum, dum – insert your own dramatic music here…) I want to make sure this bee works and has maximum enjoyment for all involved. So, I would like you to read through the guidelines below and double check (within your heart if need be) that you can commit.
Once you’ve read the list, comment below to let me know you are all good to go in the New Year.
Basics;
• 12 Month Bee
• One Bee Minx each month (the person we are making blocks for)
• We will be making blocks from Modern Blocks: 99 Quilt Blocks from Your Favorite Designers and the Bee Minx each month gets to choose her block from this book
• If she would like, she can ask people to split into two groups and choose two block (6 people doing each)
• We are a beginner bee, even if some of us are not technically beginners!
• The Bee Minx will give guidelines about the colour, theme etc of the fabic they would like their blocks made in (see note below).
• We will be making the blocks from our own stash
• The month’s Bee Minx will start a discussion by the first day in her month with details of the block she has chosen and what type of ‘look/fabric’ she is aiming for
• Fabric will be okayed by the Bee Minx
• Blocks will be in the post to the Bee Minx by the last day of the month (or later with personal agreement from the bee Minx)
• We will enjoy ourselves!
The important details;
• We will be remembering we are a ‘learning’ Bee and not starting with the hardest blocks in the book
• We will give each other a lot of support with the block, and use humour where needed (i.e. tactfully saying ‘Dang that is the fugliest fabric I have ever seen’ if someone’s fabric really turns you off and you are Bee Minx)
• This will be a 12 month bee, running from Jan 2012 to Dec 2012, I’d love it if we could all stick together in that time and have no drop outs, do you think you can commit to this?
• This bee will use fabric from our own stash which will be given the thumbs up by each months Minx via photos in this group. However, if you are lacking the colours, theme or Mojo the Minx is after you will need to buy some fabric – this should work out at less than 2 FQs each month and this will still work out cheaper all round than posting your month’s fabric out to everyone, honest!
Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the above, I think I’ve covered everything but hey, I’m sure I’ve not!

Just ordered my book tonight too! I shipped to my parents' house, though, since I'm headed home this weekend. It should make for an attractive distraction when I need to hide from dishes duty (since my sisters tend to do the cooking, sometimes I always end up on KP!).

My book came yesterday - oh the anguish! It went to my parent's house and I'm not getting there until Thursday evening!
