Greetings!
Traveling in Asia for nearly a decade I came to love my enounters with my subjects.
Imagine a foreign tourist coming into your neighborhood, church, even your home to take pictures of you and your family?
Now you know how tolerant and patient the people of most parts of southeast Asia were for me while I shot my images.
At first cautious, a smile or wave always seemd to bring one in return. A little extra attention to their children - a compliment via a translator or a gift of candy or a highly valued pencil for school - and you were in.
I have to thank the many people who posed, or at least held still for this crazy man who invaded their lives, even frightened their children at times with his huge Western frame, his mousctache and glasses.
