About 1776
Embrace the "history buff" in you! If you have taken photos of historical locations relating to the Revolutionary times (i.e., Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Monticello, Paul Revere's house, etc.), this is the place.
However, this site is not exclusive to that particular period! If you have photographed antiques from the 1700s or 1800s, this is a good place to display such items. "1776" was chosen as the group name because nothing says history in the U.S. like the year of its birth as an independent nation. Brits are welcome to submit photos from their side of the big water (George III, historical items relating to "the colonies.")
When I started the pool, the primary focus was on U.S. history. But history is international. Thus, Bastille Day is celebrated in Philadelphia, not just France.
So share all of your photos with historic references older than the 20th century.
