Ready, set, go!

Don't forget to make time for some playful artful practice today. It doesn't matter what you make, so much as it matters that you make it!
The past couple of days I've been using sumi ink and drawing either artifacts that are right in front of me (feathers, pine cones) or animals that I love from a field guide I keep on my desk.
Without fail, I sit down to draw and my two year old wants to climb onto my lap. In the spirit of play and not taking myself too seriously, I've invited him to join me. I love the result.
What might happen if you invite an unexpected element into your art making?
Can't wait to see what you make and to joyously celebrate that you're making time to create.

Ok, day 1 and I'm in! Today I was inspired by fabric and my baby on the way, but have been thinking this might be a good space to start playing with my children's book ideas...
