Drag to set position!

FairlyMerry ADMIN October 29, 2012
Let's get our September and October blocks finished up! Welcome! In this Block Party Bee we want to focus on modern fabrics and blocks. And if you choose a block from the book - all the better! We'll all have the directions handy.

This group discussion is for members only.

Group Description

A VQB using the book The Modern Quilting Bee Block Party . 12 quilters, 12 months each choosing a block from the book. Modern fabrics for a modern quilt bee. If there is another modern block you really want, we won't call it a rule to choose from the book - just a guideline, you can choose another block!

Group Rules

If possible, blocks will be chosen from the book A Modern Quilting Bee block party. Everyone doesn't need to chose a different block from the book, if you chose one someone else already has, don't worry, I'm sure the colors and prints will be different.

We won't be strict on this guideline, if there is a modern style block you want to have made, you can do choose something not in the book, just make sure to have a sample made and clear directions.

You can choose your own fabrics, or ask the Bee members to use their stash. Use only quilting quality fabrics. If you are providing fabrics, be sure to provide enough for the block(s) you have requested.

Commit to the full year for the Bee, if for any reason you feel you have to leave the Bee, allow a replacement to be found before you leave. We realize sometimes events happen to interrupt the flow of our lives, communicate with the Bee, and we will work everything out.

You can change elements of the blocks you request from the book, for example the size. You can request one or two blocks from each member for your month. Indicate in your directions thread color preference, pressing (to the side, open) preference, if you want scraps returned. Ask for 1 or 2 blocks from each member of the group.

Flickr pool is available for anyone to view, feel free to add a link from your blog, the discussion area will be for the group only.

Bees are a great format to learn new techniques and meet other quilters, let's keep it light, fun, productive and positvie!
