Making a Mosaic

For those of you who never created a mosaic before, here are some pointers I've found handy. Please add anything you have found that helps you out also.

First you go to www.bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php and click Mosaic maker.
Then what I do is open a second window with Flickr in it. Go back to the mosaic maker and figure out how many photos you want to include in your mosaic. If you are new at this I would recommend starting with about 12 until you get the hang of it.

Then, what I do is go in my Flickr window, find the photo I want to add, and highlight the URL at the top of the page, right click, hit copy, then jump back to the Mosaic page and hit paste into the slot. Then jump back into the Flickr page, find the next photo and so on.... be sure to NEVER hit the back button on your Mosaic page, you will loose all info already added there.

Once you fill all your slots, hit "create". When your mosaic opens, if there are empty holes in it, that means that particular photo is protected, and you can't use it. So don't hit "back", but instead hit EDIT at the top of the screen. It will take you back, and you can delete the bad photo and you can add a new URL, in the same method as before.

Once you have you mosaic complete, click Share, and it will ask you if you want to add it to Flickr, and you will have to give it permission. Just follow the prompts at this point. Good luck.

Hi ,Quiltinkimme, I have tried to follow your instructions but it will not let me share with Flikr. I have managed to save to my computer and upload that way but then I am not getting the names of the quilt makers. I made a mistake and uploaded two of my own quilt pictures to the mosaic page and dont know how to remove them Please help

Its ok to add some of your own photos as inspiration as long as they are like something you would want. I'm not sure why it won't let you save to Flickr. Did a prompt come up that asked you for permission to link Flickr and Bug Huge Labs?

If you've already uploaded it from your computer, you can go back to the Mosaic maker again. After you sign in, click "My Account" at the top right. Then click "Recent Uploads/Creations" (it's in pale grey where you can barely see it). When you see your new mosaic, click "Edit" under it. Leave everything as it is, but again click "Create." When the new mosaic comes up, copy the HTML in the box, you can then paste it in the description of the mosaic photo you've already uploaded on Flickr.

If you want to change those two photos you accidentally uploaded, when you click "Edit" you can change those two, then again hit "Create" and copy the HTML.

I deleted the 2 photos, but you can do it yourself and remove your own photo from any group by clicking on actions and then click on "remove from group".
