This group is about photography.
Photography? you're asking. Flickr is about photography.

Photography is not reality.

Yet, to this day, I have found that most people think of pictures as reality.
But dare I say that there is more to photography than just reality.
So there you are: photography means "writing with light." Photography is about looking at the world and representing it.
This group is about photography as representation, photography close to painting or drawing more than to "trompe l'oeil", this group is about your ability at flattening the world you observe. It is about your ability at using your frame as a canvas. But it is NOT about abstraction per se!
Editing is hectic. It is about evaluating your ability at flattening the world.
You think some of your contacts are good at flattening this world, at offering a flat illustaration of it. Do invite them...

Photoshop alteration will be kept to a strict minimum in the pictures posted.

Please add a "flatten" tag to the pictures you post.
