To illustrate the opening page of this group here are some interesting shots of what you can find here.
First is an absolutely fantastic photo courtesy of Flickr member Pentakrom which sums up the Farnborough Airshow experience of years gone by showing Avro Vulcan B.1 XA892 at the SBAC Farnborough air display in September 1956. Many thanks for your assistance and permission to use this image here.

A unique photo - NO OTHER SIMILAR IN EXISTANCE !!!

The Red Arrows are lined up on A shed apron at Farnborough Airshow 1986 and looking towards the old control tower we see, a few seconds before landing after its display, the EAP ZF534 - .... prototype to the Typhoon fighter of the RAF.

I think this photo would have had another interesting angle had i taken another with all the Hawk noses ' in shot '.

The prototype Vickers VC10, G-ARTA at the SBAC show, Farnborough 8 September 1962. Its first flight was not long before, on 29 June 1962.

The Fairey Rotodyne - 1959
Courtesy of Flickr member Pentakrom here is a superb photograph of this amazing aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow of 1959. The Rotodyne did not get past the pre-production stage and the whole programme was eventually scrapped... including the prototype. A shame!!! Imagine seeing this in a museum today.
