Since a lot of people ask how I make my lightmen, I decided to make this tutorial. There are different ways to make a lightman depending on how you want them to look, so if any one wants they can add their own version on lightmen, lightmummy to this tutorial.
First time I tried making light people I used a penlight to trace the outline of my body during a long exposure. The only thing that has changed now is that I use a electric glow stick to trace my body. The camera records the light streaks, when I want to move I turn the light off and it's too dark for the camera to see me as I move. In a dark room I'm able to move around and make multiple lightmen. You have to play around with your exposures to find the one that works with your lights. You can use chemical glow sticks or any other light source. I always tell people new to light painting to have fun with it that way they keep coming back and get better with practice and after awhile you start to notice how your camera records the light. Some times your accidents in light paintings lead to your best photos and new techniques.
