About Appalachia Rising

On Monday, Sept. 27, over 1500 people from all over Appalachia and beyond descended on Our nations capital to protest the destructive practice of Mountain Top Removal. Over a hundred protesters were arresting during an act of non-violent civil disobedience. The march headed down Pennsylvania Ave down towards the EPA building and back around to the white house. Protesters called on the the EPA, congress, and President Obama to put an end to MTR and the destruction and hardsdhip it causes.
