About Thames Barrier to Teddington Londonist Photography Challenge

Interested? Here's how it works:

- The project is open to anyone*
- Photos should have been taken in the last 2 years from the north or south bank, from a boat or bridge, anywhere along the stretch from the Barrier to Teddington. We encourage you to go out and take new pictures - hence giving you all August and September to enter.
- You may submit up to 5 photos per person

To enter:

- Join this Flickrpool
- Add your photo to the group.
- Tag your photo londonistriverproject
- Geotag your photo so that we can create an interactive map of them online. To do this in Flickr, simply open up the image, click 'add this photo to your map', then drag to the appropriate location.

Need some inspiration? Have a look at London's Changing Riverscape photographic panoramas from 1937, 1997 and 2008. You can immerse yourself in river history at Museum of London, Docklands (now free admission) or get down and dirty on the foreshore with Thames21. We'll review the submissions regularly and let you know which bits of the river have been neglected or overdone. Remember, this is Londonist. We don't want straight tourist shots. Give us surprising, alternative, dark or quirky views of the Thames and show us the history and future of London's watery artery through your lens.

The project runs until the end of September. A selection of the best pictures will be exhibited at Foyles Gallery, Charing Cross Road between 11-24 October with a private view and party on Friday 22 October (save the date!). Five photos will be chosen for special commendation. The lovely people at Shoot Experience are helping us to make this happen and we will reveal a panel of esteemed judges and some excellent prizes in due course.
