About Minolta Rokkor MC/MD lenses on Olympus DSLR

This group is formed to encourage uses of manual focus Minolta MC and MD mount lenses on Olympus '4/3 system' DSLR cameras.

Minolta manual lenses are 'orphans among orphan lenses' . They had been abandoned by Minolta Maxuum auto focus cameras and now even in digital age, only Olympus E-series DSLR can use them without glass element adapter for infinity focusing. So these lenses sell for real cheap on eBay because very few people buy them. But they are truly excellent normal lenses. Sometimes it is heartbreaking to see them sell for just a few dollars.

For Olympus DSLR users, these Minolta manual focus lenses are of special value. Because of 'telecentric' design of 4/3 system, aperture number gets doubled and it is hard to get narrow depth of field with Olympus kit zoom lenses. Well, enter Minolta MD's. They have very nice bokehs and what I believe is narrow depth of field. And Olympus 4/3 cameras are the only one which can use these lenses without glass element in adapter!

I say, Olympus 4/3 camera and Minolta MD normal lens is a match made in Heaven !
