About Sant Medir Barcelona

Every year on the 3rd of March, thousands take to the streets of the Gracia district of Barcelona. Horse drawn wagons are on their way to the chapel and to honor Sant Medir.

Although there are a lot of festivals, Catholic pilgrimages and other numberous holidays in Spain, none are quite as fun as Sant Medir! The wagons are full with tons of sweets to give away. A kind of Spanish Santa Claus, but sweets are given instead of presents. Join the crowds with umbrellas, bags and baskets and see jow many you can catch.

Have you experienced this festival or are you interested in doing so? We would love to hear from you or see your photos. Check out our experience of Sant Medir in the article below, just choose your language.
