The River of Stories aims to empower communities of the Murray Darling Basin by voicing, sharing and hearing stories. The stories will be distributed in many formats from images and short stories to film.

As is well known, the Murray Darling Basin (MDB) is Australia’s largest river catchment. About 2 million people live in the basin and a further one million are dependent on its resources. It is considered Australia’s agricultural heartland and food bowl and is also home to wetlands of international significance. It is of outstanding cultural importance to indigenous nations.
