About Ulverston and District Photographic Society

Ulverston Photographic Society are raising there profile for 2011. We welcome all enthusiastic photographers to join us from beginner to the more experienced.

We are a group of 30+ members with very varied photographic content and interest. Similarly the group is very varied in ability, some of our group are members of the Royal Photographic Society, we consider our images are of a high standard for what is currently a small but growing club. We have a good measure of success in local and regional competions and have achieved winners status in the South Lakeland Knockout competion for 3 consecutive years.

To progress members into a higher standard of photography, we have a programme of guest speakers, tutorials, independant judged internal competions. We also organised field trips during the summer months.

Our club operates from the Ulverston Parish Centre, Church Walk, Ulverston where we have excellent facilities of a tiered lecture room, complete with digital and slide projectors, print light boxes and practical demonstration equipment. We open from Autumn to Spring at the parish centre every Thursday at 7-30pm........so come along where you will receive a very warm welcome.

This Flickr group has been established to capture some of the photographers out there who are not perhaps affiliated to any club but perhaps could benefit from a group quite willing to offer critique and constructive discussion............so you are very welcome.
