Details of our new swap/bee:

This is a group for modern sewist that will participate for 11 months in a Bee AND a Swap. Are you scratching your head yet, wondering what the heck I'm talking about??? I have participated in several bees with some great ladies, but I find myself gravitating toward swaps lately because I need a little variety to keep me engaged. I do, however, like modern bee blocks, so I don't want to depart from that all together. As I contemplated the future of our bee, I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit and combine a modern swap with a bee!

The schedule will look like this:

February--Pin Cushion Swap
March--Bee Block Month
April--Pot Holder Swap--Sign-ups open March 10th
May--Bee Block Month
June--Pillow Swap--Sign-ups open May 1st
July--Bee Block Month
August--Hoopie Swap--Sign-ups open July 1st
September--Bee Block Month
October--Mini Quilt Swap--Sign-ups open September 1st
November--Bee Block Month
December--Secret Santa Swap--Sign-ups open November 1st
Janurary--Bee Block Month

By signing up for Bee a {modern}Swapper, you are committing to making 2 12.5" bee blocks for 1 recipient for the months of March, May, July, September, and November. When your Bee month comes around you will receive 12 blocks. This will be a stash bee; participants will making blocks in the colors requested by their partner using only modern designer quality fabrics. Fabric guidelines will be posted separately.

The swap months of February, April, June, August, October and December are totally voluntary and they will have sign ups for each month, so if you are super busy or you aren't interested in participating in a swap you simply sit out that month. How's that for flexibility? :)

Your level of involvement is totally up to you, but the minimum commitment needed to sign up is making the 2 block every other month. More details will be posted in the "coming Soon" thread.

The goal for this swap is to make a quilt, and a few other fun crafty items, while making a few new Flickr friends. So give this some thought, and if time permits, please join us for some good 'ol bee swappin' FUN!

Sign ups for February open on January 1 and close January 15. I will post a thread for February with the guidelines and deadline for the pincushion swap.
