About "Hand Stitched" Embroidery SWAP

This group is for modern sewists who enjoy the art of hand embroidery as it is making a comeback! Members will be paired with a partner by the administrator, according to likes, styles, and taste in fabric. They will then create a swap piece taylored to their partner by handstitching a piece of linen or fabric on an embroidery hoop that is at least 6" and no larger than 12" in diameter.

SWAP Sign ups are by invitation only, but if you are interested in taking part, please flickr mail "ariel quilts". I will close signups after the first 30 members sign up, to keep it small this first round.

SWAP pieces:
-round or other shape embroidery hoop (bamboo preferred as it is lighter to ship) that is between 6" and 12" in diameter.

-stitch on designer fabric or linen according to taste

-majority of stitching must be hand-stitched, however, if you are attaching pieces of fabric to the design, machine stitching may be used for that purpose.
