I'm the sports editor of a one-man sports department in a small-town newspaper. So I'll shoot whatever's in our tiny area.
1. My faves are football and basketball, but I love trying new things.
2. football
3. not anymore (I played football in my youth, as well as soccer, volleyball, and intramural basketball in college).
4. Seminole, Oklahoma (USA)
5. reading, writing, hiking, music, as well as tech stuff.
6. Though I get paid to take sports pix, I still consider myself an amateur, so I'll appreciate any tips/comments/critiques (thanks to Khushdude for his past tips, etc.)

1. I like to shoot practically any kind of sports - depending on the opportunity - even sports I don't know very well.
2. tennis, basketball, motorsports, swimming
3. Bowling and swimming - but not to often these days (really busy).
4. I'm originally from Manila, Philippines but calls Doha, Qatar as my current home.
5. 5-C's (Camera, Computer, Cinema, Cars, Coffee), also travel.
6. I'm an architect, that's my day job.

3. Do you participate in any sports? - I used to do a lot of skiing and hiking. I used to be able to dog paddle pretty well too, but nothing competitive.

hi, i like all kind of sport, but basketball, volleyball, and soccer is what i like the most. (and team handball if someone know what it is...) I'm playing soccer for my high school now, we won 12-0 yesterday =D and we have a new game tonight=) Now i'm living in North Carolina as an exchangestudent. my hobbies are sport, theater, dance and hang out with friends. now i don't have much time to do anything beside soccer, but i enjoy it=)

1. I am not a pro. just a mama :)
I take pics of my kids and team mates, softball and baseball.
2. My fav. sport is softball and baseball of course.
3. I help out at practices...that count? Use to play softball all the time.

1. I really like to shoot lacrosse, American football, rugby, and basketball.
2. My favorite to watch is American football. My least favorite to watch (although I love to shoot it) is probably basketball.
3. I play a little volleyball on occasion.

haha...it just occured to me that I never answered my own questions:
1) I am very,very new to sports photography, so I am not certain which sporting event I like to shoot yet. I don't have a lot of experience, but I am excited that soccer season is here to practice on.
2) Basketball and Soccer
3) No, I lack the skills, so I'll just admire others.
4) I live in the beautiful state of Virginia, somewhat close to Washington,DC.
5) Hobbies: FLICKR! Amateur sports photography, volunteer work with high school foreign exchange student programs and love horses!

Whatever sports my daughters happen to be playing at the time. Most frequently soccer, hockey, and sometimes lacrosse and basketball.

Personally I like Ice Hockey and Lacrosse due to the fast action, however I spend most of my time watching my girls play soccer.

1. Well, my daughter is a competetive swimmer, so swimming :-) Since the swimmers compete at meets with the divers I'm also working on getting divers.
2. Hmm. Soccer, Football, anything my daughter is competing in :-)
3. Swimming, Racquetball, Occasional tennis + soccer. Used to coach YMCA soccer.

1. I like to shoot all sports. My kids were in many different ones and I find them interesting.
2. Most definitely hockey. The speed and excitement I find intoxicating. To bad the Bruins were off a bit this year, but BC certainly made up for it.
3. I help coach one of my nephew's little league teams, and I play pick-up hockey in a league of old timers...lol.
4. Revere (affectionately known as ReveaaaH), which is right next door to Boston.
5. Photography, birdwatching, skiing, drag racing, music and many others.
6. I would just like to add that is so nice to see such wonderful photography on this site.

1. I'm just getting started in photography as a hobby, so I don't have a lot of experience in shooting sports. I just enjoy photography in general, though I had a really good time shooting the Tiger's baseball game this past week.
2. I think my favorite sport to watch is probably hockey, followed closely by baseball.
3. Nothing organized, just hitting the gym. I'm actually trying to get some guys together for a floor hockey league.

Hello folks! My name is John. Just joined this group today. I have not shot any sports before. So the ones I have up are my first.
1. If I could, I'd like to shoot all sports, preferably college basketball (GO ZAGS!).
2. As a spectator, Gonzaga Basketball has been my opiate of choice for a few years now.
3. I golf (still working on my game), run-working up to the half-marathon, trying to find time to pick up tennis again.
4. I live in Orange County, CA
5. Other hobbies: cooking & learning about new food, enjoying music (very diverse taste), learning different languages and about different cultures, philosophy & psychology, and many, many others. Oh yeah, photography!

Greetings everyone. :) My name is Pete. While I've been shooting sports for about 2 years now, I've only really have been getting into it in the past year.
1. What type of sports do you like to shoot?
Ah, well. I'll break it into two parts - I have been shooting lots of ice hockey and ultimate frisbee, mostly due to friends or myself playing. What I'd like to try my hand at photographing is a wider variety of sports - swimming, soccer, football, equestrian, etc. I don't know if I'll like it all, but I'd like to give them a try at some point.
2. What is your favorite sport to watch as a spectator?
Ironically, I'm not that big into being a pure spectator of sports. I do like watching college football (Go Hokies and Terps!!), and friends playing in various leagues (how I got started with the ice hockey).
3. Do you participate in any sports?
Yep. I play ultimate frisbee in a local club. Of course, the difficult part is that I can't pay attention to the game and try and photograph it at the same time.
4. Where do you live?
In Maryland, just outside DC.
5. What other hobbies do you have?
Plenty enough to get me into trouble. Cooking (goes along with eating, I suppose), programming, playing games (computer, board, card, etc), scuba diving, and reading, just to list off a few. :)

5. I'm a big camper so I love trying to find new perspectives for photos of nature (even better if I can somehow incorporate my family!) I'm also SCUBA certified so I am extremely interested in marine life and the marine environment. While I'm currently a French major and secondary education certification, I aspire to be a pastry chef someday... I have found food, especially desserts, to be a great way to bring people together and, just like photography, preparing a truly perfect dessert is challenging, rare, and when it happens, incredibly rewarding.

1. I am not sure what my fav sport is yet. I like a bit of everything.
2. I like watching football.
3. I don't participate in sports.
4. I live in Temple, Texas. I shoot all around Texas.
5. I love watching moives. I don't know if I could live without NPR.
6.I work at a Central Texas newspaper and hope to find a new job soon. Before this job, I didn't shoot much sports. I am getting better and loving it even that much more.

1. What type of sports do you like to shoot? Mainly what my boys, nieces, and nephews are playing: soccer, volleyball, wakeboarding, snow skiing, etc
2. What is your favorite sport to watch as a spectator? Soccer, football, basketball, etc
3. Do you participate in any sports? Water skiing, snow skiing, golf...bad knees and ankles keep me limited from everything else

@Ed the Fudge R...I don't know what shooting dragon boat is, but i am a dragon shooter! (whatever that is!...but I thought it sounded cool)..noticed your sports was similar to my other flickr screen name. :)

I Love to shoot all sports, but mostly baseball. Its also my favorite spectator sport along with College basketball. I don't play as much sports as I used to for a variety of reasons. When I was in College, I ran Division one Cross Country at Marist. I live in Colonie, NY, just outside Albany. That's me in a nutshell!
