About Home Canning Jars

Here's a spot to share your happy memories about Mason jars and your ideas about using them in creative ways!

On November 30, 1858, John L. Mason patented the "Mason jar." Home canning jars are a useful reminder of a time when "reduce, reuse, recycle" was know as "waste-not want-not." Just like their thrifty forebears, today's creative folks are finding ways to honor and reinvent the humble fruit jar.
Help stock flickr's pantry with your photos of home canning jars (aka Mason jars, Ball jars, Kerr jars, Lightning jars, Atlas jars, Bernardin jars, Golden Harvest jars, or plain old fruit jars.)
