About Ticketstubs
Ticket stubs are important.
Historian Martha A. Sandweiss wrote that tickets confer "a certain cultural authority." Karen Peris, singer and writer for Innocence Mission, metaphorically connected a forgotten and rediscovered ticket stub with God.
At the most basic level they are merely pieces of paper, a receipt of a transaction. But everyone knows they are more than that. They are a proof of presence. They serve as tangible evidence that you and another person, be it David Bowie in 1978 to Britney Spears in 2001, shared the same physical space.
Sometimes they are anchors for memories. We are social creatures, and we often go to movies and music and events with other people. Ticket stubs remind us not only of the event, but of the people we were with (or not with).
I hope that this pool will serve as a repository for all kinds of ticket stubs, from the subpar battle of the band stubs to rare, seminal musical events, from festivals to movies to music to raffles.
