About Life in....
The Group
This group showcases great pictures that reflect life - your life or the lives of people around you (known or unknown i.e. street photography).
There are no restrictions on content as everyone's lives are different. However, there is a small bias to shots featuring people. This group is moderated for quality control, so not all shots may make it to the pool.
Submission guidelines
The approval process is quite strict, and I wanted to give you an idea of what makes an ideal shot for the group to help you to make the best choices about what to submit.
1. The shot must make the viewer feel something when they look at it, e.g. a smile that makes you smile, a scene that makes you feel curious, a look that makes you wonder, a situation that leaves you confused, a shot that simply makes you go “wow”. A shot can be technically very good, but if it doesn’t make the viewer feel something then it probably won’t make it into the pool. Life is about how things make you feel, so is this group.
2. Shots including people posing are less likely to make it, natural shots are more likely to make it.
Also feel free to submit things from your archives; it doesn’t have to be your most recent shot. This group is a showcase, so when it was taken is not important. I have seen all members’ photostreams and seen many shots that would have no problem making it into the pool. I hope this helps and makes things a little clearer.
Commenting
Please take the time to comment on other people's shots that you like - photography can inspire, so please encourage those whose shots you like by commenting so that others may do the same for you. There is no obligation to comment but I think we all appreciate it when people give us their thoughts on our work.
