About 10x8/5x4/ 1:1.25 Ratio: For Aesthetics and Practicality

This is a group to discuss and post photos that have been cropped, edited or printed at the 10x8 (5x4) ratio.

Please discuss the pros and cons of this traditional ratio;

?why you like to use it
?why you might find it frustrating or compromising
?why you crop your digital photos to this ratio, even without the intent to print
?what is lost/gained at this ratio

[I found myself editing at this crop more and more frequently and started to think about why this was. I decided there should be a group that fits these ratios. Feel free to invite your friends]

RULES:

All Photos posted to the pool must either:

a. be a photo cropped to 10x8/5x4 ratio
OR
b. be a scan/photo of a 10x8/5x4 print

THAT MEANS:

All photos MUST be a crop of the original as 35mm or Medium Format do not technically fit this ratio naturally. Unless, you are lucky enough to have a large format camera.
