About Your 10 best shots

Simple concept, continual improvement.

Don't feel you have to be some gifted photographer with a 10x8 plate camera who doesn't get out of bed in the morning unless the sun is a certain colour, the weather is exactly as instructed and a herd of wildebeest are running across the lawn. The group is open to anyone of any standard who wants to improve.

You can upload up to 10 shots only, the 10 shots which YOU feel are the best in your portfolio. By all means ask assistance of anyone if you aren't sure which to put in, and use the forum to discus your selections if you like - but anyone with more than 10 shots for more than 30 seconds will automatically be disqualified for life. I'm not sure how that will work, as I'm certainly not going to police it.

10 best is very difficult to define, and I'd like to think it is your personal choice and not some flickr popularity algorithm or randomness.

So set your own standard, police your own work. Feel free to ask questions of any images in the forum and expect helpful comments from group members.

I suggest you keep your own set of images in your portfolio and add each of your images to that, then use it to help determine which are in this group and which should be moved out to make room for your latest masterpiece. There may be better or easier ways than this. I think you can display just your own entries in a group, that may prove a better way to sort them.

Here are the group rules. Rather than have them as a requirement to join the group, just put your hand on your heart and read them out loud so that someone else already in the group can hear you:

I promise not to post more than 10 images, and if I do, then I understand my head will fall off.

I understand that the idea is to update my entries from time to time.

The images I post are not necessarily my most popular, but the one I like best - and not just because they are family, though no harm in the odd family shot.

Nobody will kick my bottom if the shots chosen aren't their idea of good shots, though other members are welcome to suggest better ones from my portfolio - and they understand that I'm perfectly at liberty to ignore such suggestions.
