Photos from the surrounding area outside of Albany are welcome if they can be broadly considered of interest to those living in Albany (regional events, etc.). Note that some other larger towns in the region have their own groups, such as Troy and Schenectady. There are wider Hudson Valley and Upstate NY groups as well, which it helps to acquaint yourself with. Check the list below, we are in good company.

This group is not moderated (submissions do not need approval) , but off-topic photos or near-duplicates might be removed. It will benefit everyone in the group to post only a few of your best photos per subject, trip, concert, etc.; no worries, people will find their way to the rest. The general idea: keep photos under the umbrella of "Albany related". It's a wide umbrella, we can all fit under it, but things like self-portraits or detail photos that do not have any obvious relationship to the area are going to get soggy, if you follow the metaphor.
