In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam a white dove is generally a sign for peace. In Christian iconography, the dove especially represents the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Holy Trinity.
In Greek tradition, olive branches are commonly used as peace symbols. The plant was said to be sacred to the ancient goddess of wisdom, Athena. Olive branches, as well as the colour white, also appear on the flag of Cyprus
