INTRODUCTION TO THE GROUP
Hello, and a warm welcome to the Thousand Words! group.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This group was started in August, 2007 as a gallery for images that were so good that a viewer would be moved into saying a thousand or at least a few words in appreciation!
We are looking for compelling photos convey a story and reflect the passion of the photographer. We are seeking images that make a visitor pause and take a second look in admiration, and feel compelled to say something.
IS THIS GROUP RIGHT FOR YOU?
We strive for quality photographs that stand out in at least one of three dimensions: technical, artistic or journalistic. Please do not post personal photos, like images of family members, friends, pets, or scenes from your social events, unless they offer compelling technical, artistic or journalistic content to a neutral audience.
This is a group dedicated to still photography, so please do not post videos, digital art, or synthesized or heavily post-processed images that no longer look real. Moderate HDR is acceptable.
The group is open to all genres of photos, but this is a secular and family friendly group, so please do not post images with nudity or gore, advertisements, or images that make a political or religious statement. Sensual images in good taste and not deemed vulgar may be acceptable. Don’t add any item that you are not sure if a child should see.
COMMENTING
We want other members and visitors to the group admire and express their appreciation for your image! But that works only if you also participate in that process, so please comment on at least two other photos. Please use the comment code below.
However, commenting and awarding are not mandatory. There are no sweepers running to check if you commented, and you will not be threatened with a ban if you do not comment. We believe your comments should be sincere and heartfelt, not coerced.
