CONGRATS TO OUR LATEST "ADMIN'S CHOICE" SELECTIONS
This is a great shot by Katie, in part because there's so much visual goodness to explore in the frame. Foreground elements, background, textures in the sky, patterns in the tree line. One can't help but stare at this one for a while!
Some of the best shots come from hard work and preparation. Not only did Clay get up way too early to get to this spot, but he planned ahead, knowing the phenomenon only occurs for a few days each year. He was rewarded with some fantastic light.
Allen's been posting lots of good stuff lately, including plenty of his great dragonfly shots. I like this one because it's a little different. A nice close-up, and the extended limb, casually resting, gives this character a different look.
Here's one from way back in the archives. Bugs always look fascinating (and occasionally creepy) in close-ups, but I really dig the lighting used by Tomatoskin in this one. Lighting is an underrated and difficult technique to master in nature photography, but it works really well here. The shiny metallic look really makes the subject pop, and gives it a bit of a sci-fi feel.

THE SIMPLE RULES:
No Reposting
Photos that have been posted in the pool at an earlier date, removed and then reposted to collect more comments will be removed
If a shot is posted to the OUTPOST which doesn't have an invite in the comments of that picture.. our OUTPOST guardian Chief Chompsulotapeepul will eat you! It's happened, and its pretty nasty. Not to mention were trying to keep him watching his figure so... you know.. It would be unpleasant for all!
The Chief is always watching.. he scans the group photo pool on a regular basis! If he comes across a photo that has been sent to the group without an invite he will take action. One of two things will happen...
1. He won't eat you - but your photo will be removed and he will grace you with a warning.
2. Your a goner! All photos removed and banishment just beyond the outskirts of the OUTPOST (which isnt very pleasant) where the Chief will have his way with you.
