About <i>Prestwick, Idaho</i> - reflection on photography 'n stuff
Let's talk a little here...
Dennis (Wade), his common law wife Marie, and their three children Erica, Taylor and Snell live in a van, down by the river, in Prestwick, Idaho. Dennis enjoys fishing for minnows, hunting squirrels, and eating dandelion greens (in season).
Dennis Wade (Duh-NEEZ WAH-dee) was born of a Cornish miner and a pious dance hall entertainer originally from Lille in Park City, Utah. He learned photography at an early age in Mexico City when his parents' missionary work landed the family in the middle of the Mexican Revolution. Befriended by Edward Weston and his then-friend Tina Modotti, he soon earned the reputation as a modest, efficient shooter. Modotti is quoted in the Daybooks as saying, "He never needs more than one exposure. Often less than that." Captured by loyalist forces while photographing simple houses near Veracruz, Wade escaped to Martinique where he is thought to have produced his seminal works.
Snell wurde vor zwei Wochen ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Zum Glück war es nichts ernstes, das Kind war aber komplett dehydriert. Eine Infusion konnte schnell helfen. Snell blieb noch eine Woche zur Beobachtung im Hospital und ist mittlerweile wieder zu Hause. Das Problem: Dennis hat nun eine Rechnung über 2800$ an seiner Kühlschranktür und weiß nicht, wie er die bezahlen soll! Eine Krankenversicherung hat er leider nicht.

Aanvragen voor de "Dennis Wade Award - 2010" dienen vóór 16 februari 2010 in drievoud aangeleverd te worden bij de Nederlandse ambassade c.q. het consulaat dat zich het dichtst bevindt bij Uw woonplaats. De beoordelingscommissie verwacht een duidelijk gemotiveerd verzoek en minimaal drie exemplaren van elke fotografische afdruk; een fles goede lokale wijn; gebak van een bovengemiddeld gereputeerde banketbakker; een boekenbon, inleverbaar in een Nederlandse boekhandel; een geel handdoekje (geparfumeerd); zwarte netkousen met bijpassende jarretellen; condooms met een acceptabele smaak; één set schroevendraaiers; plat water; platte kaas; en een platte pet - kleur 'camelgrey'.
