Today4u notmypic fixmypic photoshopped

Final version of Today4u's photo which was black and white and 'hand painted' in photoshop using the pen tool to make selections then adding a colour to the layer and setting a low opacity (20-30%) and adding some surface blur for the body and gaussian blur for the background. In this version I set the layers to overlay mode so that the colours blended with the black and white textures better.

thanks tcherana - I had fun with this!
The fix 'brief' was "i know it seems silly to ask to have this one fixed if its in black and white, but i thought maybe someone could come up with a killer idea??) "

So I decided re-colouring it would be a killer idea :)

      You're wellcome, www.flickr.com/photos/lilcrabbygal/ :)
Your idea is not a killer one. I know some people make money 'painting' old photoes in colors LOL
The fixed portrait looks like a pinhole photo to me, nice:)

Thanks Today4u ! I really enjoyed working with your image. It was the first time I had 'hand painted' a black and white photo in photoshop and it was a wonderful image to learn on!

I have a baby photo that was hand painted - with a real paint brush - and it is among my prize posessions because I know how much work went into it. Normally I would have created a duotone or high key version but I felt like doing somethng different - at least for me :)

      You're betcha, vanessapr :)
Any hand made job is prize winning, even the one I'm studying now - welding. You're the most paid if you ca do 'nonstandart'.
How do put icons in the posts?
